Scholarships
The Northern Cincinnati Foundation grants more than $100,000 in scholarship awards each year to talented and driven students. Scholarships range in amount and eligibility requirements; most are geared toward graduating high school seniors.

The Dana Spangler Memorial Scholarship, established in Dana's memory - a young lady who had a great love of life, was active in the community, and loved volleyball and softball. This scholarship is available to a graduating female senior from Lakota East High School who shows financial need and plans to pursue a 2 or 4 year degree.

The Jordan Day Scholarship was established in memory of Jordan, a Lakota East golfer who passed away in 2010 who was a leader on and off the course. This scholarship is awarded annually to a member of the Lakota East Men's or Women's Golf Team.

The Northern Cincinnati Foundation Scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who resides in Butler, Warren or Hamilton Counties demonstrates financial need, and is planning to pursue a 2 or 4 year degree.

The Alicia Esther Lang Scholarship, created in Alicia's memory, is awarded annually to a senior from Lakota West or East High Schools. The scholarship is given to the senior that best emulates Alicia’s attitude of giving back to the community while fighting through overwhelming struggles.

The Greg Lemmel Scholarship was established in memory of Mr. Lemmel and his generous, giving heart. This scholarship is awarded annually to a student graduating from St. Susanna Elementary School, planning to attend Bishop Fenwick High School. Renewable for up to 4 years at Fenwick High School.

The Logan Pence Memorial Scholarship was established in 2016 and will be awarded annually to a senior football athlete from Monroe High School who is planning to attend a 2 or 4 year degree program.

The Shayna Smith Scholarship, established in memory of Shayna to keep her beautiful light shining, is awarded to a Lakota West senior planning to attend a 2 or 4 year program in a science field.

The Ezekiel "Zeke" Stepaniak Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a male Lakota West senior who is planning to continue their education in a creative design field after high school, like Zeke has planned.

The Kyle Babcock Scholarship was established in memory of Kyle to allow his spirit to live on by providing an opportunity to a student who will attend, or is attending, Bishop Fenwick High School and reflects Kyle's same work ethic, loyalty, leadership, and a joyful spirit.

The Matthew Stratman 6 Scholarship for High School Football Players was established in loving memory of Matthew through the "Stratman Strong" Foundation. This $2000.06 scholarship (Matt proudly wore #6 when he played Football at Lakota West) will be awarded annually to a Lakota West Senior Football Player who exhibits exceptional sportsmanship.

The Matthew Stratman 27 Scholarship for male High School Lacrosse Players was established in loving memory of Matthew through the "Stratman Strong" Foundation. This $2000.27 scholarship (Matt proudly wore #27 when he played Lacrosse at Lakota West) will be awarded annually to a Lakota West Senior Lacrosse Player who exhibits exceptional sportsmanship.

The Tide Cleaners Scholarship by Tide Cleaners franchisees, Ray and Marilyn D'Alonzo. The scholarship will benefit a hard-working Butler County high school senior who will be pursuing their education at 2 or 4 year college/university. Applicants must demonstrate leadership qualities and hold a part-time job to help save for their education.

The Hoody Memorial Fund was established in 2016 in memory of Master Sergeant Corey Hood. The Hoody Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a Lakota student who possesses the same positive qualities that Hood exhibited throughout his life – a strong will, a desire to succeed, and “a little bit of grit.”

The Dunaway Family Scholarship Fund was established to award scholarships to Mason High School seniors who have demonstrated the academic ability and personal motivation to pursue their education beyond high school. Scholarships are up to $10,000/year, renewable for up to 4 years of undergraduate education.

The purpose of the Celebrating Excellence Scholarship, open to all Mason High School students, is to raise student awareness of several successful African Americans who are doing amazing work but who are not generally well-known. This scholarship is meant to celebrate excellence, and all students are encouraged to apply – regardless of ethnicity or race.

The Bob & Lew Ann Lawhorn Education Fund Scholarship for Norwood High School Seniors awards a scholarship of up to $10,000 per year for 4 years of full-time undergraduate study at the University of Cincinnati.

You Could Teach is a scholarship fund for 'Career Changers' who want to become certified teachers for any grade K-12 in any public or private school setting. The fund was established to encourage individuals to make a career change into education, assist with financial obligation of tuition and fees , and partner with higher education organizations to become a resource for those seeking a teaching career.
Award Amount: $3,000
Established in memory of Kristin Renneker, beloved sister, daughter, and friend who sadly lost her life in a car accident her senior year of high school. The scholarship acknowledges a young woman at Lakota East and West for her accomplishments, both scholastic and athletic, to help with the financial burdens of a college education.
